MORE INFO

THE EXCELLENCE OF THE GREAT WINES OF BURGUNDY

The appellation illustrates very well the particularity of the Grands Crus of Burgundy: small surface, but great wine! With only 2 hectares of production area, the Mazoyères-Chambertin appellation contributes to the reputation of Burgundy wines. Located in the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin, the hamlet is a stop on the wine route for lovers of Grands Crus. The term "mazoyères" means "small houses". The clay-limestone soil with silt and gravelly scree gives wines of a very dark colour. A colour that announces the complexity of the wine on the palate. Fleshy and complex, Mazoyères-Chambertin is reserved to accompany refined dishes. It is a wine for ageing that can be opened after several decades.

ORGANIC AND BIODYNAMIC, A SECOND NATURE!

Although not certified, the Pinot Noir is grown organically or biodynamically, as are most of the vineyards in the prestigious surrounding appellations. Green harvesting, by hand, is increasingly practised in this appellation, an operation carried out with the aim of regulating yields and above all increasing the quality of the remaining grapes. This important detail helps the wines, which are already based on precise plot work, to progress.
