Mazis-Chambertin AOC
The Mazis-Chambertin vineyard is located directly next to the Clos de Bèze vineyard and is one of the 9 Grand Crus of the Gevrey-Chambertin. Located in the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin, this Grand Cru covers an area of approximately 9 hectares and produces a great red wine made exclusively from the Pinot Noir grape. This magnificent Grand Cru was donated to the Hospices de Beaune in 1976 by Jean Collignon and named in memory of his mother. The soils are chalky, with a good proportion of clayey marl giving the wine great power and roundness. Beautiful notes of red fruits are revealed, accompanied by flowers such as violets and roses. On the palate, this wine is generous, with fine tannins and a touch of spice. An elegant and powerful Grand Cru with incredible ageing potential.
