Marsannay AOC
Vineyard of the Côte de Nuits
Located in the Côtes Nuits vineyard in the Côte-d'Or, the northernmost wine region of Burgundy, Marsannay is produced in all three colours. Both the red and rosé wines are made from the Pinot Noir grape, while the white wines are made from Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc. The style is similar to the neighbouring appellation Gevrey-Chambertin. The red Marsannays are intense in colour and develop a bouquet of red and black fruits on the nose before exalting on the palate with a powerful attack that harmonises on a good final length. The white Marsannays are full-bodied and long in the mouth. They deliver aromas of citrus fruits and white flowers that will delight any wine lover. They are wines to be drunk young, but you can wait up to ten years before drinking them.
