La Tâche AOC
Grand Cru of the Côte de Nuits in Burgundy, the La Tâche AOC is one of the six Grands Crus located in the Vosne-Romanée appellation with La Romanée, Romanée-Conti, La Grande-Rue, Romanée-Saint-Vivant and Richebourg. La Tâche is a monopoly of the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti since 1933. The origin of the name of this appellation comes from the expression "faire une tâche", i.e. to cultivate a vineyard against a fixed payment. The vineyard, facing east, extends over more than 6 hectares, at an altitude of between 250 and 310 metres. La Tâche shares with La Grande-Rue brown calcareous clay soils in the lower part and deeper in the upper part. La Tâche AOC is one of the most prestigious appellations in Burgundy, expressing all the subtlety and complexity of the Burgundian Pinot Noir. Its aromas of red fruits and flowers leave an important place to those of liquorice. Highly appreciated by connoisseurs, this Grand Cru is one of the most exceptional wines of Burgundy.
