Haute Côtes de Nuits AOC
Spreading its production area in the western part of the Côte de Nuits vineyard, the regional appellation and complementary geographical denomination Hautes Côtes de Nuits was created in 1937. However, it was only officially recognised by the INAO in 1961. Destined to disappear, this vineyard enjoyed a renaissance in the 1950s. Classified in the family of the great wines of Burgundy, this appellation is renowned for its red wines, made from the Pinot Noir grape variety, frank and firm with pleasant tannins on the palate. The Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits also offers white wines with a nice balance between richness and freshness, from Chardonnay and very rarely from Pinot Gris or Pinot Blanc. A small quantity of rosé wines is also produced within this appellation. Discover this Burgundy appellation with the Domaines of Pierre Gruber, Pansiot or Gilbert and Christine Felettig.
