FOOD AND WINE PAIRING

vin rouge

RED WINE The wines of the appellation have a dense tannic substance and an aromatic richness that is perfectly suited to small game birds, with which they are an equal match. The supple but powerful tannins also allow them to accompany red meats (beef ribs, entrecote, braised veal or veal in sauce, roast lamb). They also adapt to the aromatic intensity of a glazed poultry for lovers of Asian cuisine. Strong, soft, washed-rind cheeses: Livarot, Époisses.

MORE INFO

BURGUNDY GRAND CRU

Located in Morey-Saint-Denis, near the commune of Chambolle Musigny, Clos de Tart enjoys the Grand Cru status like the other great prestige wines in the Côte d'Or. It is one of the five Grands Crus of the village with Clos de la Roche, Clos de Tart, Clos Saint Denis and Bonnes Mares. At an altitude of about 250 metres, and facing the east, sometimes slightly east/south-east. The appellation was recognised as Grand Cru on 27 April 1981. On the label, the name "Grand Cru" must appear immediately below the name of the appellation. With good weather conditions, the Clos des Lambrays takes on its full dimension: we recognise its vibrant singularity which places it at the top of the Côte de Nuits wines. Definitely, the wines of Clos des Lambrays are rare wines, highly sought-after by connoisseurs. To be tasted at least once in a lifetime as they promise an unforgettable tasting experience!

ORGANIC AND BIODYNAMIC, A SECOND NATURE!

Without being certified, the Pinot Noir is cultivated organically or biodynamically, as are most of the vineyards of the prestigious surrounding appellations. This is an important detail that helps the wines to progress, as they are already based on precise plot work.

AN APPELLATION FULL OF HISTORY

In Burgundy, the term "climat" is used to describe the terroir. The wines of Clos des Lambrays enjoy a complex terroir full of history! They are the result of historical foundations dating back to the late Middle Ages and the regrouping of several climats. With its 8.67 hectares of vineyards on marl (upper part) and clay-limestone (lower part), the Clos des Lambrays is undoubtedly one of the most precious of the 33 Grands Crus of Burgundy.

It is both a domain name and an appellation name: it is a quasi-monopoly. In 2014, the LVMH group announced the acquisition of the Domaine du Clos de Lambrays. Associated with the world of luxury, the renowned estate bounded by its dry stone walls thus owns almost all of the Grand Cru. This lineage promises to inscribe the appellation in refinement vintage after vintage for the greatest pleasure of connoisseurs.
