These toasted bread slices are a must in summer. A perfect Italian appetizer for a dinner party. The bruschetta is considered the star of the antipasti, but in the past it was the complete meal of the peasants who toasted the bread over a wood fire. Over time, this "poor man's meal" has been revisited according to the region, the main ingredients remaining bread, tomato and olive oil. In a refined way, bruschetta is even the best way to taste a good extra olive oil. Drizzled with oil, it combines simplicity and deliciousness. Doesn't it make your mouth water!
The version we propose features bruschetta with sea flavours.
To accompany it, our experts take you directly to Sicily with a traditional white wine made from an island grape variety capable of withstanding very high temperatures, Grillo.
This grape variety is used in the Marsala, the famous local sweet wine that goes well with desserts. Just as traditionally, the Sicilia DOC appellation proposes a dry white wine from Grillo, a heritage of the Sicilian viticulture.
Particularly recommended with seafood, it matches perfectly with our recipe! A gastronomic pairing that will take you on a journey this summer while staying under your parasol: With its intense fruity and herbaceous notes, Grillo is supple and light. The wine proposed by our experts is very well balanced:
Our suggestion: GRILLO - FEUDO ARANCIO
A beautiful bright pale colour, it reveals subtle aromas of white and tropical fruits on the nose. Fresh and smooth on the palate, it guarantees beautiful and original flavours. It is no coincidence that Sicilian wines are found on the best tables in the world!
