Blaye - Côtes de Bordeaux AOC
Located on the right bank of the Gironde, the Blaye - Côtes de Bordeaux appellation has as its emblem the beautiful citadel built by Vauban in the 17th century. It was intended to protect the coast from English and Dutch attacks. The AOC produces red wines, that are tasty, aromatic, light and fresh whose star grape is Merlot. Also some white wines are produced. The appellations terroir is very diverse, with up to 25 different soil types ranging from limestone to sand and gravel.
