The difficulties of history had almost annihilated the vineyards of Château Minuty, which covered the peninsula of Saint-Tropez more than a century ago. Luckily the Mattons bought the Napoleon III building and the chapel in 1936, and patiently restored the 75 hectares of vineyards and the estate to its full splendour. Thus, in 1955, Château Minuty became one of the 23 producers to be distinguished for the appellation Crus Classé des Côtes de Provence .
