Another great star of the Margaux appellation, Château Palmer offers a style that's altogether different from its neighbour, Château Margaux. Due to the differences in grape variety (the Médoc Cru includes a higher proportion of Merlot in its final blend), wines from Château Palmer offer a richness, fullness and silkiness that are standard for this cultivation area. Since 2004, Thomas Duroux's vine management has led to the Cru improving its precision and consistency, bringing recent vintages to the very top. The second wine, Alter Ego, responds to the same exacting standards as the first but it is designed for early drinking.
