The history of this famous whisky brand begins in Cork in 1825. It was then called Distillery Company Old Irish Wiskey of Midleton and practised the technique of triple fermentation; which gives high alcohol content whiskeys. Wishing to further spread the brand in Irish pubs, the distillery chose to hire new salespeople. And this is when Paddy Flaherty, a jovial man, extremely gifted for trade, became legend! Thanks to his good mood and humor, he made many sales, propelling the distillery to peaks never achieved before. As a tribute to this unique seller, in 1912 the distillery Cork renamed its whisky Paddy. Today the brand has remained one of the most popular in the country!
