The estate was created in 1929 by grandfather Robert Joillot, winegrower and nurseryman. He married Marthe, the daughter of the baker from Pommard. His son Georges-Adrien Joillot succeeded him until his sudden death in 1971. The activity was then twofold: The vineyard and the production of vine plants. In 1981, Jean-Luc Joillot settled down and worked with his mother Simone Joillot on the 6 hectares of vines. In the town of Pommard, the vines extend over 700 hectares, 350 of which are in the Pommard appellation, only planted with the Pinot Noir grape variety . The regional appellations can be produced there: Bourgogne Aligoté, Bourgogne Passetoutgrain, Crémant de Bourgogne, the new Bourgogne Côte d'Or appellation in the plains and Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes De Beaune in the slopes which extend to the rear of the coast. Historically, all parcels are planted at a density of 10,000 vines per hectare.
