Château Saint Jean d'Aumières is at the heart of the prestigious Terrasses du Larzac. AOC recognized since June 2014, the Terrasses du Larzac is in fact a terroir known for a long time for the quality of its wines. The first to devote themselves to viticulture were the ancient Romans, then followed by the Benedictine monks who at the turn of the ninth century founded the abbeys of Aniane and Saint-Guilhem-le Désert. On this small terroir, considered one of the best in the world by Robert Mondavi himself (who tried in vain to acquire part of it in the early 2000s), passionate winegrowers produce wines of very high quality, capable of competing with the best wines in the world. Syrah , Grenache , Cinsault and Mourvèdre are produced, as well as the emblematic Carignan.
