It was in 1927 that the great-grandfather Georges Larribière acquired his first hectares of vines in the town of Saint-Etienne-de-Lisse, south-east of Saint- Emilion and on the edge of the Castillon appellation. Since 1997, Béatrice after a wine training and experiences in the Australian and Californian vineyards took over the estate and vinifies the wines herself. The same year, the name and the plots of vines of Château La Chapelle were purchased from a close neighbor of the family. We have included on the label the same font as that still present on the entrance gate to the owner's home. Sensitized from an early age by her grandfather Gaston to work that respects people and the environment, Béatrice obtained organic farming certification in the 2012 vintage. One of the particularities of the Château is its area of 15 ha in one piece, on a clayey-silty soil at the foot of the slopes. 48 years old on average, the vineyard also has a few old plots more than a hundred years old which are gradually being renewed. The water table located in the basement guarantees the restitution of water necessary for the full development of the vines throughout the year. Made from a 100% Merlot , Château La Chapelle has all the finesse and elegance of a great Saint-Emilion vinified by a woman.
