Château de Nages is part of the Michel Gassier vineyards, within a family of winegrowers from father to son for four generations. The vineyard is part of the Costières de Nîmes, the southernmost of the Rhône Valley, with its Rhone grape varieties, its soil (made up of pebbles) and the Mistral. It stretches gently south-east of Nîmes and as far as the Petite Camargue. The vines of Château de Nages are cultivated according to organic farming practices. The terroir of the place is composed of pebbles which store the heat of the sun as in Châteauneuf-du-Pape , and benefit from a convection effect produced by the thermal breezes of the Mediterranean. The tempering effect of these breezes reinforces the thermal amplitudes between day and night, which preserves the freshness and expression of the terroir!
