GROWER CHAMPAGNE

In 1948, André Chemin founded the eponymous Champagne house to develop and market his own Champagnes, in Sacy, a small village classified Premier Cru. Over the years, he has worked hard to produce grapes in the heart of the Montagne de Reims and to develop exceptional nectars. Through his cuvées made with passion, this Champagne producer wishes to introduce French know-how and good manners.

Over time, the love of vines and Champagne is passed on from father to son. From now on, this family house is managed by the third generation, represented by Sébastian and his wife Eva. It continues to produce Champagnes under the name of André Chemin. They operate a vineyard that covers approximately 6.5 hectares spread over the Premier Cru slopes of the Montagne de Reims. The grape varieties used are mainly Pinot Noir supplemented with Chardonnay.

A WIDE RANGE: BRUT TRADITION, VINTAGE CHAMPAGNE OR CUVÉE PRESTIGE

The André Chemin Champagne house is renowned for its exceptional Champagnes, the result of the hard work of three generations of winegrowers. The cuvées from this Champagne estate owe their quality in particular to the nature of the soils on which the family vines take root. Their establishment on the prestigious terroir of the Montagne de Reims, mainly classified Premier Cru, guarantees the vines the best possible conditions to produce great wines.

Testifying to the know-how of this family of winegrowers, the André Chemin range is particularly varied with different types of Champagnes:

  • Brut Tradition Blanc de Noirs: this Champagne is the result of a blend of different Pinot Noir cuvées. It seduces with its freshness, roundness and length on the palate.
  • Cuvée Célestynka Brut Zéro: this nectar is born from the same blend as Brut Tradition. Particularly reflecting the terroir and revealing a unique taste, this Champagne has not undergone any addition of sugar (liqueur d’expédition).
  • Demi-Sec Blanc de Noirs : this cuvée is produced using the same method as the Brut Tradition. These two Champagnes differ in terms of dosage (sugar level).
  • Brut Cuvée Sélectionnée: this Champagne is a blend of 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay. Thanks to a long period of ageing in the cellar, it reveals remarkable power and elegance.
  • Cuvée Prestige: powerful and elegant, this Champagne is born from a blend of Pinot Noir (80%) and Chardonnay (20%).
  • Brut Rosé: this Champagne with soft reflections and delicate aromas of red fruits is born from a blend of 74% Pinot Noir, 18% Chardonnay and 8% of red still wine (Pinot Noir from Coteaux Champenois AOC).
  • Brut Millésime 2014: this vintage Champagne is prepared with twice as much Pinot Noir as Chardonnay. During its development, this cuvée only partially undergone its malolactic fermentation, giving it a unique and exceptional character.
  • Excellence 2008 Blanc de Blancs: having undergone no malolactic fermentation, this Champagne, with fine and complex aromas, is made exclusively from Chardonnay.
  • Champagne Premier Cru HVE: this delicate, light and round cuvée is committed to the environment and comes from vines managed under HEV certification (High Environmental Value). This Premier Cru is packaged in a lightweight bottle made of recycled glass with a label made of paper from FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified sustainable forests. To produce as little waste as possible, this bottle has no wire cage or cap. In addition, an ancestral string closure has been used.

HEV CERTIFIED CHAMPAGNE VINEYARD

Working with respect for people and nature, Sébastian and Eva favor viticultural methods that respect the environment. Thus, the vineyard is managed according to the principles of sustainable viticulture, earning it the recognition of exploitation with High Environmental Value (HEV). Within this family estate, the work in the vines and the production of Champagnes meet certain criteria, namely biodiversity, fertilization management, phytosanitary strategy, as well as irrigation management. Thanks to the ecological approach adopted, this vineyard is also certified Sustainable Viticulture.
