The history of this family-owned distillery began in Venezuela in 1824, when Dr. Siegert developed the recipe for Aromatic Bitter. It was not until much later, in 1936, that the doctor's two sons inherited his formula and started producing rum. However, the first family distillery was not opened until 1949. Since then, this establishment has been among the most emblematic rum houses.
