Born in Burgundy, and now harvested all around the world, Chardonnay is the base of the most famous wines in Bourgogne: Chablis, Meursault, Montrachet, and Pouilly Fuisse. Furthermore, we find it in Champagne Blanc de Blancs, exclusively made from Chardonnay grapes, and in some Crémants.
It is an extremely versatile grape that adapts to very different climates and therefore produces wines with different shades depending on soil, climate and winemaking techniques. Mineral tones, and toasted hazelnut aromas that we may find in wines from the northern regions of France give way to aromas of citrus, pineapple and exotic fruits in the warmer countries.
