CHATEAU LÉOVILLE LAS CASES 2003 - 2EME CRU CLASSÉ

0,75 L Red Wine / France / Bordeaux / Saint-Julien AOC / 13 % vol

"One of the success stories of the vintage" Robert Parker
Château Léoville Las Cases is undeniably one of the most prestigious estates in the Bordeaux Saint-Julien appellation. Founded in 1638, it went through the ups and downs of the French Revolution before becoming the current estate, next door to Château Latour. With its deep ruby colour, this 2003 vintage offers a bouquet of ripe blackcurrants, mineral notes, chocolate and violets. Over time, it breaks down beautifully in the glass and is full-bodied on the palate, offering ripe tannins, a delicious roundness, an expansive feel, plenty of depth on the mid-palate and a superb finish. Hats off to the Las Cases team for a wine like this. Magnificent!

CHÂTEAU LÉOVILLE LAS CASES

Often considered as the equal of the first classified growths of Bordeaux, the great wine of Léoville Las Cases is today the most prestigious of the Saint-Julien wines. Owned by Jean-Hubert Delon for more than 30 years, Léoville Las Cases is endowed with an exceptional terroir: 53 hectares on the banks of the Gironde where the first wine is made. "It has been impossible to fault Léoville Las Cases for 30 years. With superb depth, the quality reaches, even exceeds that of the first classified growths for a quarter of the price. For us, it is the best of the second classified growths. (Revue des Vins de France, December 2011). The first of the second growths!
