"The style is simply magical, bright, sleek, airy, crisp and crunchy. What delicacy of anise, star anise, verbena... on a juicy core of yellow fruit and sun-kissed honey." - Gault & Millau -
Château Coutet is an ancient property of the De Lur-Saluces family and it remains one of the most renowned of the Sauternes-Barsac appellation. This beautiful vineyard extends over 35 hectares in the commune of Barsac. In Sauternes appellation, this wine has belonged to the Baly family since 1977. This 13th-century English fortress housed the stables of Château d'Yquem, today transformed into a winery. This first grand cru is considered one of the two lords of the Barsac along with Château Climens. This Château Coutet vintage is very successful. A beautiful aromatic complexity with notes of candied fruit, juicy yellow fruits and honey, it offers a bold, rich and concentrated palate. It has that Barsac spark. Ready to drink, it is built to last and requires a few more years to develop. A really great success!

A fabulous Barsac. I tried it on my last trip to Bordeaux at L'ecole do vin. I loved everything about this wine. I had to buy it to add to my collection.

Very ripe, with personality, perhaps less full-bodied than other vintages but with that proverbial ability to seduce that is so characteristic of Château Coutet. Undoubtedly, a sure value.

Fresh, delicate but at the same time intense, with an aroma of red fruits with a cherry base. Elegant fine tannins and very balanced acidity. Drink over the next 10 years.

A sweet wine of those that do not leave indifferent even to those who are not initiated in sauternes wines. With an elegant acidity and a great complexity of aromas, including citrus notes, it is a wine that is more than recommendable even for drinking alone in the middle of the afternoon.

CHÂTEAU COUTET

Château Coutet, Premier Grand Cru listed in the 1855 classification, is located at the heart of the Barsac appellation. It benefits from an exceptional terroir, made up of a mainly clay-limestone soil. Today, the Baly family manages the domaine and the Baron Philippe de Rotschild company distributes its wines. The château's wines bring together elegance and quality with a distinctive liveliness. When young, they are vigorous and fresh, needing a good deal of storage to express themselves fully.
