A treasure of the Loire, the quintessence of a valley...Real concentration to be savoured among epicureans!
The Coulée de Serrant winery in Savennières is known for producing exceptional white wines. Biodynamically managed since 1981, the winery partly works the soil by horse (in the steep terroirs overlooking the Loire) and is also a 7-hectare AOP in its own right, completely owned by the Joly family. White wines rarely need decanting, but this one needs considerable airing - at least 24 hours - for the magic to work... Clos de la Bergerie hails from a 3.2-hectare plot whose slopes are slightly less pronounced than those of the plots used for the winery's other cuvées. Exceptional freshness, aromas of fresh quince, a full-bodied palate and unparalleled pleasure!

VIGNOBLE DE LA COULÉE DE SERRANT

The Coulée de Serrant was planted in the 12th century by Cistercian monks and has been in vines ever since. The vineyard produces 3 wines of different appellations (Coulée de Serrant, Savennières Roche aux Moines and Savennières). It alone constitutes a controlled designation of origin of 7 hectares. Celebrated by Louis XIV, Alexandre Dumas as one of the best French white wines, it is Nicolas Joly who currently chairs. A convinced follower of biodynamic agriculture, the virtues of which he advocates around the world, he presents the precepts of his approach to us while revealing his philosophy of life; "For things to go well, we have to woo life beyond the sensitive world. This is, fundamentally, the challenge of biodynamics"
