The history of the Ferraton estate has grown from generation to generation. It all began in 1946 with Jean Orëns Ferraton, himself the son of a winegrower. He created the estate and bequeathed it to his son Michel, who continued his father's work with the same passion. In 1998, under the guidance and with the help of Michel Chapoutier, a winemaker also retained by Bernard Burtschy, the Ferraton estate embarked on the adventure of organic farming and then that of biodynamics. The general idea is to respect the living in all its forms and to promote harmony between terrestrial and cosmic forces Today, the vineyard extends over the Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage and Saint-Joseph appellations but the purchases of grapes are also made in many appellations, Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Cornas, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Côtes-du-Rhône, Côtes-du-Rhône Villages Plan-de-Dieu and Tavel. The company's parcel selections deserve a special mention: confidential cuvées of great quality, precision and generosity, witnesses of a truly unique territory.
