This is a typically Australian red wine, with great flavours and a real pleasure to drink. Another bottle that will always remain in my cellar.more reviews

Grenache, Syrah / Shiraz and Mataro (Mourvèdre) in harmony. An unmistakable wine and a flagship region, it has everything!
The Barossa Valley is an iconic area of very old Australian vines, some are more than 100 years old! Torbreck offers us a mature, tasty and intense wine. The palate is silky with notes of black cherries, plums and spices enhanced by fine tannins...

TORBRECK

David Powell was destined for the accounting profession when an uncle introduced him to the world of vines and wine. He found a job in Rockford, in the Barossa Valley, close to the old vines of Shiraz, of which he would later become a specialty, while traveling in Europe and the United States where he made several harvest campaigns. In 1992 he cleaned a few plots of old abandoned vines on behalf of owners before taking over several hectares in sharecropping. Fascinated by the wines of the Rhône, he is convinced of the potential of the Barossa Valley at a time when the old vines of the region are still being torn down massively. This intuition will quickly be rewarded. In 1994, he founded the Torbreck estate, named after a Scottish forest in the Highlands where he had worked for several years as a lumberjack, and vinified his first vintages in a modest shed. Year after year, he refines the style of his wines, staying true to his original source of inspiration, the Rhône, from venerable strains of Shiraz, Grenache and Mourvèdre. Torbreck is today a major producer of Barossa.
