A pleasant nose of red fruits, on the palate it is a juicy wine, with a controlled woodiness, supple tannins which will become more refined with time. Very nice finish.
Jean-Claude Berrouet is best known in the world of Bordeaux wines for the splendid work he did for Château Petrus, and all the experience he acquired in Pomerol he poured into his two estates: Vieux Château Saint-André, purchased in 1979, and Château Samion, purchased in 1982. Since 2002, his son Jean-François has been at the helm, carrying on the work begun by his father with great care and sensitivity.
