LEAVE YOUR REVIEWI found this wine to be A little disappointing due to a lack of depth compared to other Mourvèdres I have had. However, it’s certainly enjoyable and good value.
Taureau, a fresh and light red wine, ideal for a big lunch or a barbecue. A beautiful structure, we find the identity of Vellas Vineyards!
A great discovery of this 100% Mourvèdre during a wine tasting evening. Its spicy and berry aromas make it easy to drink, with little tannin... It will delight you!
As a Mourvèdre fan, I was not disappointed! Everything is in place, it is a very structured wine. It is very gourmet on the palate, with spices and jammy black fruit dominating. A very nice wine.
The suave and velvety side of this grape variety will appeal to all lovers of Languedoc-Roussillon wines or of sunny and spicy wines, with the power well controlled as usual with this range.
Beautiful structure, light. Good control of the complexity of the grape variety. To be enjoyed with friends around a barbecue, it's ideal. I recommend this wine.
Very good red wine, nice label! It goes well on all occasions. It is tannic and quite powerful. My friends also like it a lot. I really recommend it!
This wine is pleasant to drink, but there are much better wines to drink from Mourvèdre. The very specific aromas of this variety are not present.
In the Bestial range, here's the bull/mourvèdre. An intense ruby colour, with a nose of red and black fruits and spices. Powerful on the palate, full-bodied, with fine, liquorice tannins. Lovely finish. However, I have a slight preference for the cuvée cheval/syrah.
For lovers of Mourvèdre, this wine has fine tannins and good length, with a powerful structure and a hint of cedar.
The single-varietal mourvèdre always guarantees a racy, spicy wine! Ripe fruit, power and peppery notes for a wine of character. It may lack a little length on the palate.
A very pale 100% Mourvèdre. Already on the nose I noticed little aroma. Then there was a definite lack of character and no punch with spicy dishes. Perhaps drunk a little too young.
Vellas Vineyards, a family history that began four generations ago in the heart of the Languedoc appellations, is a place of culture and tradition, centred on vines, wine, gastronomy and bulls. It is located in the communes of Teyran and Le Crès, near Montpellier, between the Pic St Loup and the Mediterranean Sea. On the estate, you can discover the vineyard, the tasting cellar, the Manade Vellas with the breeding of Camargue bulls, a café-theatre, a gastronomic restaurant, an equestrian centre, gîtes and a large hall for your events... Our family has always had a close relationship with agriculture - with over 1000 hectares of cereals, pastures and olive trees, and 1200 bulls and Camargue horses - and with the vineyards - with 200 hectares. Respect for our land and the environment is part of our way of life. This is why the majority of our vineyards are organically grown. Our 200 hectare vineyards are spread over 9 properties: Domaine Mas du Pont, Domaine Valinière, Mas de Louis, Domaine Léo Vareille, Domaine Garoloup, Château Furiosa, Château Beau Renard, Château l'Euzière and Domaine Grisette des Grès. Thus we offer all the terroirs of the South of France.
