Bertrand and Vincent Marchesseau took over the family estate in 2001. The estate has the particularity of being located in three appellations: Bourgueil (14 ha), Chinon (5 ha) and St Nicolas de Bourgueil (3 ha). The roles on the estate are well defined: vineyard work and vinification for Bertrand, maturing and trading for Vincent. Their differences allow them to be perfectly complementary and to bring together all the qualities that are essential to the winegrowing profession. Their philosophy in a few words: "...to know how to dare; but the difficulty is to dare with wisdom... Dare... organic farming. Our production philosophy is based on the search for constant quality thanks to a certain level of requirement, a permanent questioning, a rigorous work on the vineyard (analysis and work of the soil, grassing, thinning, leaf removal, sorting...), and this in the respect of the environment. From this point of view, organic farming is an obvious choice. The Bourgueil, Chinon and St Nicolas de Bourgueil appellations are produced from a single grape variety, Cabernet Franc. We produce different cuvées according to the terroir: "Roc' Collection" from clay-limestone slopes, "Funambule" on stony islands, "Poids plume" and "Rosé Shadocks" from gravel-sand terraces; with strong visual identities that make a lasting impression.
