FABIVS 2020 - CIACCI PICCOLOMINI D'ARAGONA

0,75 L Red Wine / Italy / Tuscany / Sant’Antimo DOC / 14,5 % vol / 100% Syrah

"Excellent value for money” - Robert Parker
This pure expression of Syrah / Shiraz, the Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona Sant'Antimo Fabius is an impressive Italian version of this grape variety. The Syrah always tends to demonstrate opulent and succulent wealth, and that is certainly the case here. . You will certainly recognise these varietal characteristics, but they are rather subordinated here by the Tuscan identity of the wine. An opaque purple colour is followed by a classic bouquet of bacon, blackberry liqueur and blackcurrant. This fruit bomb is creamy, thick and incredibly concentrated. The wine's ageing in new oak has been absorbed by its great concentration of fruit. A surprising and decadent wine!

CIACCI PICCOLOMINI D'ARAGONA

The Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona estate is located in the municipality of Montalcino in the middle of the gentle hills of Tuscany. A family estate since 1983. Today managed by Paolo Bianchini and his sister Lucia. They produce very high quality wines in cooperation with the oenologist Paolo Vagaggini. 40 hectares of vines are planted in schist and marl soils. The estate has a solid reputation as a specialist in the Brunello appellation. Most of the estate's vineyards are planted with Sangiovese clones, but French grape varieties Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon are also grown here.
