LEAVE YOUR REVIEWThis Sancerre is light, but generous in fruit, everything I look for in a red. The nose is balanced, with notes of crunchy raspberries, without overdoing it, but it is really in the mouth that it takes on its full dimension! A delightful wine!
The property covers 21 hectares in the heart of the Sancerre appellation, planted with Sauvignon Blanc for the white Sancerre, and Pinot Noir for the red Sancerre and the rosé Sancerre. Each of the wines is vinified separately, respecting the type of soil from which it comes: "Le Rochoy", a monopoly of the flint terroir, "La Comtesse", located on the Kimmeridgian marls of the famous "Les Monts Damnés" hill in Chavignol, "Les Garennes" on a land of caillottes south of the village of Sancerre. Since 1986, our Domaine Laporte has been the property of the Bourgeois Family, winegrowers in Chavignol. Each generation that has worked on the estate has been able to contribute its know-how, vintage after vintage. Plot-based vinification historically applied to the estate is a distinctive element and is at the origin of a comprehensive range, the foundation of the notoriety of our Laporte wines present on the finest tables in France and abroad. Our Sancerre vineyard has been working since 2008 in Organic Agriculture. All this supposes more human intervention in the vineyard but ultimately contributes to increasing the quality of the grape and therefore of the wine. The grass is contained between the rows of vines, a cultivation technique that limits their vigor, while respecting the environment. This mastery of the vines gives more structure and depth to the wine, allowing it to rediscover its true soul.
