BARBERA D'ALBA DOC 2021 - GIOVANNI SORDO

0,75 L Red Wine / Italy / Piedmont / Barbera d'Alba DOCG / 14 % vol / 100% Barbera

"Pretty color in the glass and floral aromas of fresh plum, blackberry, hibiscus and ash. Medium body with intense fresh flavors, turning salty on the finish. Nicely done." James Suckling
The Barbera grape variety is very well worked in this estate. It is a wine with character but without wood ageing, only in vats for 6 months and in bottles for 3 months, which makes it more supple and light, ready to drink. Its ruby red colour with garnet reflexes develops a delicate patina with time. Rich, intense, with full and persistent aromas of black fruits. The palate is complex, supple and tasty, a harmonious wine that goes very well with osso buco, a Bolognese sauce or even certain white meats.

SORDO

The estate is located in the heart of the famous Barolo region, in the municipality of Castiglione Falletto. It was founded in 1912 by grandfather Giuseppe. Today, Giorgio Sordo presents the third generation to manage this family estate. The Sordo family owns 53 hectares of vineyards in five different municipalities in the Barolo wine region. This explains the great diversity of their cuvées. It is with know-how, rigorous work and respect for tradition that the estate has managed over the years to establish itself among the great names of the Piedmont region. The estate is renowned in Italy, but also abroad, for its highly elegant Barolos, of impressive complexity and ageing potential.
