CHINON LES BARNABES 2019 - DOMAINE OLGA RAFFAULT

0,75 L Red Wine / France / Loire / Chinon AOC / 12,5 % vol

AB (organic wine) EU organic farming
"A beautiful structure and good balance with tight tannins and a great floral intensity at the finish. " - VINOUS -
A Chinon that been moulded by the Loire's alluvial deposits and the Vienne's gravel in the area surrounding Savigny-en-Véron. After steeping the uncrushed grapes, the must is gently raised to 25°C to release its primary aromas. This vintage's nose give us floral and fruity aromas that are very crisp and more specifically with notes of violet and raspberry. The palate has very supple tannins and the crispness of the fruit takes precedence. A wine that will bloom in its youth!

DOMAINE OLGA RAFFAULT

In the beautiful country of Véron, cradled between the Loire and the Vienne, the Olga Raffault estate has passed on its know-how in the development of its Chinon wines for four generations. Today, Sylvie, Olga's granddaughter, takes over with her husband Eric de la Vigerie, and they fully intend to maintain the good recipes of the past. The Olga Raffault estate covers 25 hectares of vines: 24 hectares are cultivated for Chinon Rouge and Rosé in Cabernet franc single-varietal, 1 hectare for Chinon Blanc in Chenin single-varietal. Vines with an average age of thirty years spread over 3 Terroirs producing 3 types of Chinon Rouge. The choice of terroir remains essential including soil, microclimate, grape variety and cultivation practice. The vintage or the climatic conditions encountered during the annual cycle of the vines, shape the specific character of the wine of the year, but the terroir gives the wine an easily recognizable typicity.
