STÉPHANE MONTEZ DU MONTEILLET

In 1741 the ancestors of the Montez family bought the Domaine du Monteillet, plot by plot. Their significant expertise has been conveyed via nine successive generations to now arrive with Stéphane Montez. After two years of working in various vineyards worldwide, he has the knowledge and acute awareness of the singular character of his terroir. The Montez family make, age and market wine from the 24 hectares of vineyard overlooking the Rhône Valley and covering three appellations, namely Condrieu (blend of small, scattered parcels), Saint-Joseph (with generous, gourmet wines) and Côte-Rôtie (with exuberant and meaty reds). Absolutely a domaine you need to get to know!
