Although there's more residual sugar than I usually like in a wine, this Gewürztraminer is a delight. Greatly balanced, showcasing beautiful notes of ripe mango, honeywax, rose petal, and intense aromatics. The wine's texture is smooth and round, with a lingering spicy note in the aftertaste.more reviews

Unbeatably-priced biodynamic Zinnkoepfle Gewürztraminer!
The hillside of Zinnkoepflé is a limestone terroir unique for its Mediterranean microclimate, South/South-West exposure and limestone-sandstone soil. A Grand Cru terroir, it gives rise to spicy wines that are strong on bouquet and full of power. The Gewürztraminer from the Les Sinneles plot opens on to a fresh, smoky-mineral and spicy nose framed by fresh citrus (lemon and grapefruit) and vibrant fruit aromas. Full-bodied, rounded and mellow, but also piquant and very elegant, this is a balanced, lively Gewürztraminer marked by salinity. The wine has a stimulating tension in its freshness and spice, and should continue to delight you for years to come!

Clearly one of my favourite Gewurztraminners. For several years, I have remained faithful to this Gewurztraminner with its exceptional aromas. I was disappointed by this vineyard.

It has everything you want from a Gewurztraminer Grand Cru from Alsace. Sweet notes that perfectly match the acidity of this wine. Excellent to enjoy in company.

This wine is simply perfect. It goes perfectly with foie gras or cheeses. Easy to digest, you can enjoy it with your eyes closed. Here's to you.

DOMAINE ERIC ROMINGER

It was in 1970 in the heart of the Noble Valley, on the outskirts of Westhalten and Soultzmatt, that Eric Rominger’s father created the estate. Eric will take over the reins of the estate in 1986 to quickly develop a range of quality wines before turning to organic in 2000, then to Biodynamics in 2008. Strength of character and determination, Eric Rominger and his team develop with commitment, wines of great generosity with total respect for the environment, the land and the vines, limiting the use of phytosanitary products as much as possible. These efforts will allow them to obtain the Déméter label in 2012 by representing with precision, the typicity of the wines of Alsace and in particular through the Grands Crus Saering and Zinnkoepflé located on a majestic south-facing slope culminating at more than 400 m of altitude. Now alone on board, Claudine Rominger Sutter continues with her natural strength to develop her vines and her work in the cellar in Biodynamics, to always give expressive and authentic wines on all of their 12 hectares. Sharing, pleasure and respect for the environment are and always will be the fundamentals of this family home.
