Petrus is undoubtedly the most prestigious wine of the Pomerol appellation. Petrus is a rich, round and velvety wine. Although very concentrated, with fleshy and opulent fruit, the wine of Petrus is distinguished by an incredible harmony and great finesse. This vintage of Petrus reveals expressive notes of blueberries, gingerbread, with hints of cocoa, violets, liquorice and kirsch as well as subtle touches of roses and cinnamon stick. Full-bodied, rich, spicy and incredibly concentrated, the palate has irresistible freshness and wonderfully ripe, velvety tannins, finishing very long and opulent. The very complex aromas at this stage of youth are atypical for Petrus: a unique vintage!

PETRUS

By itself, the name of Petrus is a legend! Throughout the 19th century the estate belonged to the Arnaud family. In 1925, a Libournaise, Ms. Loubat, took shares in the property. Twenty years later, she is the sole owner. Not admitting that Médoc wines sell for more than Pomerols and in particular hers, she does everything to take advantage of such a promising terroir. In a few decades the myth was born. In 1961, Ms. Lacoste and Mr. Lignac, niece and nephew of Mme Loubat, inherited the estate. More recently, Jean-Pierre Moueix, trader and traditional partner of the Château, bought Mr. Lignac's shares and runs the property with Ms. Lacoste.
