Son and grandson of a winegrower, Gérard Gelin acquired the Clos des Nugues in 1976, before joining forces with his son Gilles. Located in the north of the Beaujolais region, on the border of the Moulin-à-Vent, Fleurie and Morgon crus, the estate now covers almost 30 hectares. The average age of the vines is around 45 years, with some of the Gamay vines being over a century old. Les Nugues is one of those estates that are contributing to the renewal of the Beaujolais region, far from the mercantile sirens.
