FLEURIE 2019 - DOMAINE DES NUGUES

0,75 L Red Wine / France / Beaujolais / Fleurie AOC / 13,5 % vol

High Environmental Value certification
Recognised every vintage by Robert Parker and the Guide Hachette, this cuvée is a real success that bears witness to all the talent and expertise of this winery!
In this Fleurie, Gilles GELIN demonstrates all the expertise and passion that dwell in him. The nose offers up lingering red fruit aromas. After a very subtle attack, the palate proves ample and rich, confirming the scents on the nose. Amidst an extremely delicate tannic grain, red-fruit-dominated aromas framed by some lovely length are apparent. The polar opposite of alluring but commercial wineries, Gilles GELIN is one of those estates that is contributing to the renaissance of Beaujolais wines.

DOMAINE DES NUGUES

Son and grandson of a winegrower, Gérard Gelin acquired the Clos des Nugues in 1976, before joining forces with his son Gilles. Located in the north of the Beaujolais region, on the border of the Moulin-à-Vent, Fleurie and Morgon crus, the estate now covers almost 30 hectares. The average age of the vines is around 45 years, with some of the Gamay vines being over a century old. Les Nugues is one of those estates that are contributing to the renewal of the Beaujolais region, far from the mercantile sirens.
