COTES DU JURA - LA POIRIERE 2019 - DOMAINE BERTHET - BONDET

0,75 L White Wine / France / Jura / Côtes du Jura AOC / 13,5 % vol / 100% Chardonnay

AB (organic wine) Biodynamic Independent winemakers
“My favourite Chardonnay of the domaine” Robert Parker
Deriving from the oldest plot of the Chardonnay Domaine on Trias marl soils, this Poirière wine was bottled separately for the first time in 2019 to produce a Côte du Jura that replaced the Balanoz wine, which had been produced for the last time in 2016 because it was hit by frost in 2017 and too mature in 2019. This new wine is aged in casks for ten months with topping up. The result is juicy and vibrant, with white peach, grapefruit and orange notes. The structure is mineral and the finish complex, lingering and clear. Incredible value that is already delicious but will continue to improve over the years. A must!

DOMAINE BERTHET-BONDET

The Berthet-Bondet estate was taken over by Chantal and Jean Berthet-Bondet, both former agricultural engineers. They settled in Château-Chalon in 1984 and the first harvests took place in 1985. Neither coming from a winegrowing family, the acquisition of plots and know-how is done gradually. Among the 15 hectares of vines, the estate cultivates 4.5 hectares of Savagnin in Château-Chalon AOC and 10.5 hectares in Côtes du Jura AOC.
