CHATEAU DE MYRAT 2007 - 2EME CRU CLASSE

0,75 L White Wine / France / Bordeaux / Sauternes AOC / 13,5 % vol

"Dried fruit flavours, with hints of caramel and an almost smoky character. Long and superbly rich." - Wine Spectator -
Château de Myrat is a family property with 22 hectares of vines planted on the magnificent stone terroir of Haut-Barsac. The de Pontac family produces with passion and commitment a fine, elegant and racy Sauternes wine, a true "Barsac", with the guiding principle being the search for balance. Chateau de Myrat 2007 is the vintage where this historic estate finally "got back in the ring" after resuming production in 1990. This 2007 offers us a roasted nose, with concentrated notes of apricot, very candied fruits, and mineral notes at the end of the nose. The attack is fresh, the mouth round, rich, frank, with aromas of exotic fruits. Very good sweet wine, supported by acidity, and a finish of ripe fruit, with toasted and mineral notes.

CHATEAU DE MYRAT

Located on the "Haut-Barsac" territory, a clay plateau on cracked limestone, Château de Myrat is a 30-hectare property surrounding the estate: 22 hectares of vines and 8 hectares of parkland. The castle, with its pure lines, was rebuilt around 1730 on older vaults by the Demirat family, lawyers under Louis XIV. This elegant chartreuse is arranged around a central pavilion with ashlar floors, from which two wings with returns onto the garden emerge. If you happen to walk through this unique place of refinement and calm, you will discover, at the bend of the English garden or in the alleys of the wood with its hundred-year-old trees, the peacocks, pheasants, squirrels or roe deer that have taken up residence there. A family wine, the transmission of the passion was obvious for Jacques de Pontac's children: since 2010, Slanie and Elisabeth have been immersing themselves in the vineyard, the cellar and the marketing of the know-how of the two Pontac brothers.
