BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO RISERVA 2015 - CIACCI PICCOLOMINI D'ARAGONA

0,75 L Red Wine / Italy / Tuscany / Brunello di Montalcino DOCG / 15 % vol / 100% Sangiovese

"The opulence of fruit and complexity of earth, meat, mushroom and cedar is breathtaking. It’s full-bodied, deep and powerful with so much intensity and depth." James Suckling
The quality of the grapes reserved for this Riserva is exceptional. Produced only in the best vintages from the Pianrosso vineyards, it is made by hand harvesting, traditional vinification with long skin maceration, ageing in barrels (3 years) and in bottles (12 months). Only 1.69 hectares claim the "Pianrosso" denomination, located in soils between 240 and 360 meters of altitude. The Sangiovese expresses itself beautifully in intense, broad and complex aromas. The wine is fruity, spicy and airy: notes of ripe red fruit harmonize nicely with multiple spices. On the palate it is warm and harmonious with pronounced but supple tannins. It is a full-bodied wine with good length, suggesting great potential that will evolve with long bottle ageing.

CIACCI PICCOLOMINI D'ARAGONA

The Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona estate is located in the municipality of Montalcino in the middle of the gentle hills of Tuscany. A family estate since 1983. Today managed by Paolo Bianchini and his sister Lucia. They produce very high quality wines in cooperation with the oenologist Paolo Vagaggini. 40 hectares of vines are planted in schist and marl soils. The estate has a solid reputation as a specialist in the Brunello appellation. Most of the estate's vineyards are planted with Sangiovese clones, but French grape varieties Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon are also grown here.
