MARSANNAY - LES GRASSES TÊTES 2019 - DOMAINE BRUNO CLAIR

0,75 L Red Wine / France / Burgundy / Marsannay AOC / 13,5 % vol / 100% Pinot noir

What a delight ! "This is the most interesting and the most complete of his cuvées." Allen Meadows
What elegance for this Marsannay which is rather discreet when opening the bottle, but which reveals itself after a light aeration. The palate is delicate, refined and the tannins are silky. All the character of the appellation and of the winemaker are found in this Marsannay Les Longeroies. A model of Pinot Noir, which will appeal to wine enthusiasts with frankness and vinosity. A real haute couture bottle!

DOMAINE BRUNO CLAIR

Bruno Clair founded the vineyard which bears his name in 1979. A few parcels of Marsannay and Fixin, La Dominode in Savigny-les-Beaune and a large wasteland in Morey-Saint-Denis in the locality ¨En la rue de Vergy¨ formed most of the nascent farm. In 1986, Bruno was entrusted with the vines of his parents, brothers and sisters (Clos de Bèze, Cazetiers, Clos St-Jacques, Vosne-Romanée, Clos du Fonteny, Chambolle-Musigny). New vines were added to the operation in 1993 (Corton-Charlemagne, Pernand-Vergelesses and Aloxe-Corton) and in 1996 (Gevrey-Chambertin Petite Chapelle) to bring the area of the estate to more than 23 hectares. Bernard Clair, meanwhile, also leaves his mark with a remarkable work of selecting and marking the finest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay plants. His long quest unfortunately ended in 2005 but allowed the constitution of an inestimable heritage of fine and not very productive plants which today benefits a new generation of Burgundian winegrowers.
