A very nice surprise! A very fruity wine with a beautiful minerality and a very good length in the mouth, great success; perfect paired with scallops, I highly recommend it!more reviews

A wonderful synthesis between the sun, the terroir and its grapes which offers a wine with aromatic power and rare elegance!
A true "Grand Vin" which reflects and emphasizes the nature of the terroir even more than the characteristics of the grapes. The old vines of grape varieties typical of Alsace (Riesling and Gewürztraminer) are planted here, harvested and vinified together, through a style of winemaking that dates back to the 13th century. The result is amazing. It is a fabulous, rich and organic wine, to be tasted alone or with foie gras.

The complexity of this wine is amazing, the after taste has so many components! The blend of Riesling and Gewürztraminer gives a lot of floral, peach and some honey notes. So delicious, that it is drinkable without food. Semi-sweet and amazing long finish.

JULIEN SCHAAL

The Alsace wine region has a unique combination of major types of soil which form a veritable "kaleidoscope" of geologies. Some of the most interesting soils are pink sandstone, blue shale, limestone, granite, gypsum and volcanic rocks. They are all found in fine vineyards. Julien Schaal thinks that Riesling is perhaps the best grape to translate these characters into wines. In 2011, Olivier Biecher and himself launched a cellar exclusively dedicated to Alsace Grands Crus wines. From Andlau to Thann they found many interesting vineyards which all have a strong individual character. Today, Sophie and Julien Schaal are doing their best to ensure that the vineyards can express all their power in the style of wine they love.
