Intense aromas of berries and spices on the nose. Rich and tannic, it expresses itself with more roundness after a few years of cellaring. To be enjoyed with roast beef.
A nice medium ruby color on the glass, with aromas of red fruit, but also some black fruit notes and oaky notes. It’s balanced with smooth velvety tannins and nice acidity. Again red fruit, cherry, raspberry, oak, vanilla, leather, clove and some hints of cinnamon. Lovely with a quite long finish.
A very good year for Cote d'Or and this is no exception. This is deep, intense and structured, though still on the young side as far as complexity is concerned. Nevertheless, the wine was developing nicely in the glass with the passage of time.
Bouchard Père et Fils has been owned by the Champagne House Henriot since 1995. Stéphane Follin-Arbelet is now the head of the winery and pursues the work that has been done since the buy-back! He managed to rejuvenate the estate's grapevines expression in just a few years. Maison Bouchard Père & Fils created an exceptional estate over time. Today it has 130 hectares of vineyards in the heart of the Côte d'Or, including 12 classed in Grand Cru and 74 in Premier Cru. With a unique heritage in Burgundy, leaning on its prestigious appellations: Montrachet, Chevalier-Montrachet, Corton, Corton-Charlemagne, Clos Vougeot, Chambertin, Beaune Grèves Vigne de l'Enfant Jésus, Volnay Caillerets, Meursault Perrières… Names that resonate with history and emotion and motivate us to pursue excellence and respect for the terroir!
