The Domaine has been an exclusively family business for three generations. The Meyers come from a Swiss family who immigrated to Katzenthal in 1732. Félix Meyer (1877-1964) was the founder of the estate. He bought the headquarters of the farm and began cultivating the vines. His daughter, Lucie, still takes part in the work in the vines and in the harvest. Lucie Fonné known as Tata Lucie is the aunt of François Meyer, Félix's grandson, who settled on the estate in the 1960s and initiated bottling and marketing to individuals. Nicole married François in 1969 and joined the estate after the birth of their second child. Nicole Meyer was in charge of the office and sales at the cellar. The quality of the welcome and the wines are the guarantors of the longevity of the operation. In 1992, Félix, the eldest of François and Nicole, took over the estate and developed export sales. He modernizes the installations and the equipment and gives his mark, in perfect agreement with his father to the wines and the mode of culture. He is currently undertaking to expand the estate by diversifying the terroirs and grands crus. In addition to the family nucleus, there are salaried employees, two of whom are permanent: Fabrice, employed since 2002 for work in the vines and the handling of tractors and other machines, and since 2014, Rafal, also for work in the vines.
