RIESLING GRAND CRU ROSACKER - CALCAIRE 2020 - DOMAINE JULIEN SCHAAL

0,75 L White Wine / France / Alsace / Alsace Grand Cru AOC / 13 % vol / 100% Riesling

EU organic farming
Another high-flying Riesling Grand Cru offering, as always, unbeatable value for money, by the excellent Julien Schaal Domaine, exclusively from Vinatis!
This dry and effusive Riesling is bursting with citrus and flowers, with a touch of flint. It offers great balance between the very structured fruit and the mineral freshness that reveals itself throughout the tasting. Finally, the long finish is beautifully highlighted by subtle tannins. This is the wine for you to accompany a seafood platter or shellfish.

JULIEN SCHAAL

The Alsace wine region has a unique combination of major types of soil which form a veritable "kaleidoscope" of geologies. Some of the most interesting soils are pink sandstone, blue shale, limestone, granite, gypsum and volcanic rocks. They are all found in fine vineyards. Julien Schaal thinks that Riesling is perhaps the best grape to translate these characters into wines. In 2011, Olivier Biecher and himself launched a cellar exclusively dedicated to Alsace Grands Crus wines. From Andlau to Thann they found many interesting vineyards which all have a strong individual character. Today, Sophie and Julien Schaal are doing their best to ensure that the vineyards can express all their power in the style of wine they love.
