CHINON GABARE 2019 - DOMAINE GROSBOIS

0,75 L Red Wine / France / Loire / Chinon AOC / 13,5 % vol

Demeter (biodynamic label) EU organic farming
"Round and fruity on the palate. There's something pure and clean here, a linearity with just a soupçon of limestone at the finish. It is engaging and elegant." Jason Wilson - Vinous
Produced from 40-year-old vines and aged for eight months in cement vats, this Gabare vintage reveals a fruity yet elegant nose, giving spiced and peppery notes. Round and fruity on the palate, the wine exudes a truly remarkable purity and precision. Linear with just a dash of limestone on the finish, for a more than convincing result. A very lovely Chinon that's compelling and elegant.

DOMAINE GROSBOIS

In parallel with the association he leads with his cousin Thierry Amirault in Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil, Nicolas Grosbois operates his 9 hectares of Chinon in biodynamic agriculture. He extracts wines by seeking the native intensity of the vintage. Those who do not like woody wines will be delighted at the estate, especially since the wines come from yellow sands which confer more native suppleness than clay-limestone.
