CHIGNIN BERGERON LA BERGERONNELLE 2019 - LES FILS DE RENE QUENARD

0,75 L White Wine / France / Savoy-Bugey / Chignin-Bergeron AOC / 13 % vol / 100% Roussanne

Thanks to its beautiful balance, the jury unanimously nominated it a favourite! Hachette Guide
Philippe Viallet bought the Les Fils de René Quénard domaine (18ha of which 15ha Bergeron) in 2008 with Claire Taittinger, with eponymous champagnes. There is now an on-site manager, Alexis Cote. Aged on the lees for a year, this superb Roussanne was a winner on all fronts: powerful aromas of apricot, rich and round texture, very fruity persistence. Highly artistic!

LES FILS DE RENE QUENARD

Based in the town of Chignin for over 300 years, the René Quenard family began planting vines on the slopes of the “Savoyarde” mountain at the start of the 20th century. Over the years, they have carefully and rigorously selected the best soils and specific varieties of the region: Jacquère, Mondeuse and Roussanne. The flagship of Savoy wines, the vineyard is located at the foot of the 11th century Defensive Towers, facing the Belledonne and Mont Granier ranges. The rocky soil and the sun bring intensity and minerality to the typical aromas of the wine from this region. The vineyards are operated sustainably using environmentally friendly techniques. In addition, the harvest is done by hand in order to always respect traditions as much as possible.
