LE PETIT VIOGNIER 2020 - STEPHANE MONTEZ DU MONTEILLET

0,75 L White Wine / France / Rhone / Collines Rhodaniennes IGP / 14 % vol

The charming qualities and strengths of one of the finest appellations of the Rhône Valley in a PGI by Stephane Montez. A jewel, a treasure, gem, whatever the term, you must try it!!
"Le Petit Viognier" was the name of a variety of Viognier in the middle of the 19th century, not very productive and limited to the hills. And then Monsieur Montez happened to pass by and thanks to him we can now discover this Collines Rhôdaniennes PGI that is similar to a Condrieu. Proudly displaying the typical character of the grape variety with beautiful flavours of apricot and peach, but also toast. This wonder can be drunk on all occasions but do not be surprised when your guests deem it to be three times its price, as it has the accuracy, propriety and strength of a very great wine!!

STÉPHANE MONTEZ DU MONTEILLET

In 1741 the ancestors of the Montez family bought the Domaine du Monteillet, plot by plot. Their significant expertise has been conveyed via nine successive generations to now arrive with Stéphane Montez. After two years of working in various vineyards worldwide, he has the knowledge and acute awareness of the singular character of his terroir. The Montez family make, age and market wine from the 24 hectares of vineyard overlooking the Rhône Valley and covering three appellations, namely Condrieu (blend of small, scattered parcels), Saint-Joseph (with generous, gourmet wines) and Côte-Rôtie (with exuberant and meaty reds). Absolutely a domaine you need to get to know!
