CHATEAU DUCRU BEAUCAILLOU 2016 - SECOND CRU CLASSE

0,75 L Red Wine / France / Bordeaux / Saint-Julien AOC / 13,5 % vol

"This wine will be listed in the annals of this historic domaine." - Wine Enthusiast -
Largely dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, this vintage from Château Ducru-Beaucaillou has a beautiful purple red hue and offers tantalising fragrances of cherry, creme de cassis, roses and spice. The palate is rich and sensual with good tannins that are marvellously velvety. With a plethora of nuances at the finish, it is long yet crisp. A vintage not to be missed!

CHATEAU DUCRU-BEAUCAILLOU

Sited as its name suggests in 50 hectares on a wide slope of deep gravel, this vineyard occupies one of the most beautiful locations in the Médoc. With 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit-Verdot, Ducru-Beaucaillou produces a wine that's considered quintessentially Bordeaux, and more specifically of the Médoc. The owner, Bruno Borie, pays the utmost attention to quality and meticulously cares for the vines, as well as applying a stringent grape selection process. All of this leads to a wine that is supremely elegant and balanced, but never gaudy, and it can easily be stored for more than 10 years before it releases its true character.
