LANGHE NEBBIOLO 2020 - CANTINA DEL PINO

0,75 L Red Wine / Italy / Piedmont / Langhe DOC / 14 % vol / 100% Nebbiolo

"Informal and pure, this Langhe Nebbiolo (closed with a glass cork) offers a generous and authentic portrait of the most famous grape of Piedmont. " R. Parker
Aged for eight months in stainless steel tanks before going into barrels for a period of four months, this Langhe Nebbiolo has all the fruity and spicy characteristics of a traditional Barbaresco, but it is intended to be consumed in its youth. Dried cherry, mint, tobacco, liquorice, incense and crushed flowers are nicely identified in this fragrant and approachable Langhe Nebbiolo. With remarkable complexity and softness and a good tannic structure, it goes perfectly with many of your meals, from the simple to the more elaborate. A delight that our transalpine friends like to offer us!

CANTINA DEL PINO

Renato, winemaker and musician, and Franca, architect, a few years ago decided to abandon their respective careers to manage the Cantina del Pino together with Renato's parents and a small team of collaborators in love with this region. The family's vineyards are concentrated around the Ovello hill, a site known for its cool microclimate and the uniqueness of its soils in which limestone, sand and calcium mix, creating the ideal conditions for aging Barbaresco. After studying winemaking at the Alba Enological School and having worked side by side with great Barbaresco producers for five years, Renato felt the need to test his ideas and methods both in the vineyard and in the cellar, so in 1997 he convinces his father to create his own label. With the arrival of Franca in 2013, the company turns towards a more contemporary approach that reflects the enormous gratitude for having the privilege of being able to transform Barbaresco grapes into wine. Convinced that the secret to a good wine is the quality of the vineyard and the soil, the vineyard is worked with meticulous care, combining traditional and modern techniques, but always with the utmost respect for nature and the territory. Unfortunately, in 2020 Renato passed away due to a tumor and the company passed into the hands of Franca who pays tribute to Renato's memory by carrying on the work undertaken together and which made them known all over the world.
