LEAVE YOUR REVIEWI usually like wines from Savoie and this white wine produced by Charles Gonnet was highly recommended by the Decanter. However, this is not a typical Chignin-Bergeron. Strong tropical fruits overpower the usual apricot-lemon notes. My wife loved it, but I am less sure. Worth trying though.
Pleasantly surprised by this wine, fruity, dry but sweet, with small notes of honey without bringing too much sugar. I drank it with Brie de Meaux, a delight.
The Charles Gonnet estate is a model to follow in Savoie! Constantly growing for several years, this 14 hectare estate has chosen a modern approach, vinifying its Jacquère, the property's flagship grape variety at very low temperatures. The purpose of cold is to select the yeasts and modify their metabolism, thus forcing them to "work calmly" as Véronique Gonnet says.
