BAROLO CIABOT MENTIN 2017 - DOMENICO CLERICO

0,75 L Red Wine / Italy / Piedmont / Barolo DOCG / 14,5 % vol / 100% Nebbiolo

"The wine shows bright primary fruits and a delicate and airy complexity. The effect is soft, silky and refined (...) exceptional! " R. Parker
The Ciabot Mentin vineyard is located in the heart of the Ginestra cru and reflects the upper area of the hill, with vines planted at 410 metres above sea level. This vineyard was established in 1978. Like the other great wines of the area, it ages both in barrels (for eight months) and casks, large wooden containers (for one year), and the overall oak footprint is reduced compared to previous vintages. This is a great Nebiollo that expresses a great bouquet based on faded rose, mineral, and fresh spice. The wood is perfectly blended in this complex and classy bouquet. The palate is fine and expresses a refinement worthy of the greatest Burgundy vintages. The tannins give way to a formidable persistence you will not soon forget.

DOMENICO CLERICO

Domenico Clerico's estate was founded in 1978 in Monforte d'Alba in the heart of the Langhe when he inherited 3 hectares of vines and a small farm from his father. At the time the estate mainly produced fruit trees. Domenico saw the immense potential of his vines and decided to gradually buy vines on the finest wines of the region, listening to the wise advice of the elders who have spent their lives working in these vines. The selected vines benefit from south-western exposure and an altitude between 150 and 450 meters. Today Domenico puts all these efforts at the service of the vines and the wine. Its parcel approach (Burgundian style) has won over critics from all over the world and we are under the spell of these absolutely divine wines!
